Workshop Call for Proposals

We are pleased to announce the call for workshop proposals for the upcoming International Conference of Art, Design and Technology , which will be held on 22 July 2023 at Hong Kong Metropolitan University. We invite researchers, practitioners, and experts from various disciplines to submit workshop proposals that align with the conference theme and contribute to its objectives.

Workshops at the International Conference of Art, Design and Technology provide a unique platform for in-depth discussions, interactive learning, and collaborative exploration of specific art, Design and Technology topics. We encourage workshop proposals that foster active participation, encourage hands-on experiences, and promote knowledge exchange among participants.

We are particularly interested in workshop proposals that address the following topics:

  • Workshop 1: Art, Design, and Emotion
  • Exploring the intersection of art, design, and emotional experiences, and their impact on individuals and society.

  • Workshop 2: Using Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality for Training and Simulations
  • Examining the applications of virtual reality and augmented reality technologies in training and simulation environments, and their potential for enhancing learning and performance.

  • Workshop 3: Application of Creative Technology in Art and Design Education
  • Investigating the use of creative technologies, such as interactive media, digital tools, and coding, in art and design education to foster innovation and creativity.

  • Workshop 4: ‘Techspressionism’ of Digital Art
  • Exploring the concept of ‘techspressionism’ and its manifestations in digital art, where technology becomes a medium for self-expression and creative exploration.

Submission Guidelines:

1. Workshop Title:Provide a concise and descriptive title for your workshop.
2. Workshop Abstract: Submit a brief abstract (maximum 300 words) summarising the workshop’s objectives, scope, and relevance to the conference theme.
3. Workshop Description: Describe the workshop in detail, including its goals, intended audience, activities, and expected outcomes.
4. Workshop Duration: 3 hours-session long.
5. Workshop Format: Outline the format and structure of the workshop, highlighting any interactive or participatory elements.
6. Workshop Requirements: Specify any specific requirements or resources needed for conducting the workshop (e.g., equipment, materials).
7. Workshop Facilitators: Provide a brief bio and contact information for the workshop facilitators, highlighting their expertise and experience related to the workshop topic.

Submission Process:

Please submit your workshop proposal as a PDF document via email to icadt2024@outlook.com no later than 20 May 2024. In the subject line of your email, please include ‘ICADT 2024 Workshop Proposal Submission’.

Review and Selection:

All workshop proposals will undergo a thorough review process by the ICADT2024 organising committee. Proposals will be evaluated based on their relevance to the conference theme, clarity of objectives, interactive and engaging elements, and potential impact on the participants. Accepted workshop proposers will be notified by 31 May 2024.
